Calling all talents -Don't miss the Annecy / YouTube competition!

50 years of creativity, innovation and technology – that's worth celebrating!

For its anniversary, the Festival is teaming up with YouTube to organise an original competition...

Open to all, it gives budding creators, students or industry professionals the opportunity to be a part of a world-renowned Festival.

Feel like being creative, making an animated film or adpating an exisitng production?

The film must be of a maximum running time of 5 minutes, be centred on the theme of celebrations and anniversary and integrate the keywords: “50”, “Festival” and “Annecy”.
To take part simply upload your film between 1st February and 1st May 2010 to: www.youtube.com/annecyfestival

From 2nd May, users will vote for the 10 best shorts (voting ends at midnight on 23rd May). A jury of professionals will then choose the winner from the 10 finalists (making their decision between 24th and 27th May).

The prizewinner will be treated to a week at Annecy 2010, taking place between 7th and 12th June, and the winning film will be screened during the event.

Disney XD ruft Väter zum Synchroncasting!

Kinder aufgepasst!

Hat Dein Vater das Zeug zum Synchronsprecher? Dann melde ihn - oder einen anderen männlichen Verwandten - zum großen Synchroncasting an, denn Disney sucht für Disney Pixar's diesjähriges Kino-Highlight TOY STORY 3 die deutsche Stimme für die Rolle des grünen Plastiksoldaten!

Alle Väter, die auch als Erwachsene noch ein Herz für Spielzeuge haben, können sich gemeinsam mit ihren Kindern ab sofort bis zum 10. April 2010 online unter www.DisneyXD.de sowie per Post bewerben. Ab dem 27. Februar können Bewerbungen auch bei SUPER RTL unter www.toggo.de sowie telefonisch und auf dem Postwege eingereicht werden. Das Casting der zehn Finalisten, zu dem auch die Kinder eingeladen sind, findet am 17. April 2010 in München statt. Ab Anfang Mai beginnt für das glückliche Gewinnerduo dann das große Abenteuer im Synchronstudio. Während der Vater vor dem Mikrofon steht und dem Soldaten seine Stimme leiht, erhält der Sprössling eine hochwertige HD-Kamera, mit der er eine Mini-Doku über den Event drehen wird, die anschließend auf Disney XD ausgestrahlt wird.

Der große chinesische Animator Te Wei ist im Alter von 95 Jahren Anfang Februar gestorben. Sein Film "Die Hirtenflöte" gehört zu den besten Animationsfilmen der Trickfilmgeschichte.

Küß den Frosch Soundtrack von Randy Newman nicht wählbar für einen OSCAR!

Was sagt man dazu! Der Grund, warum "Küß den Frosch" in der Sparte "Bester Soundtrack" beim diesjährigen Oscar-Rennen nicht nominiert werden konnte:

Randy Newman's score for Disney's "The Princess and the Frog" is ineligible for an Oscar nomination, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Tuesday.

After the Music Branch Executive Committee met Monday, "it was determined that the film is not eligible in the score category, though four songs from the movie remain eligible for consideration," AMPAS said in a statement. Three original songs from the score by Newman and one by Ne-Yo are eligible in the original song category.

Newman's score appeared on the 81-film "reminder list" sent to all branch members for possible nomination. It was the only musical left on the list. The scores for Nine and Where the Wild Things Are had already been declared ineligible, and for that reason, the score for Crazy Heart was not entered into competition.

The Music Branch cited Rule 16, which states that "scores diluted by the use of tracked themes or other preexisting music, diminished in impact by the predominant use of songs, or assembled from the music of more than one composer shall not be eligible."

Tabulators at PricewaterhouseCoopers have been instructed to disregard any votes cast for the original score of The Princess And The Frog. The movie remains eligible in all other categories for which it qualified.

Sources told Variety that the film's score probably stayed on the list due to an oversight. Rule 16 was created in the 1990s because several Disney animated musicals -- including The Little Mermaid (1989) and Beauty And The Beast (1991) -- won for Original Score, which was traditionally reserved for dramatic scores, not musicals.

I want to tell you about Walt Disney Animation Studio's 2010 release, Tangled. It’s a really fresh, smart take on the Rapunzel story.

In our film, the infamous bandit Flynn Rider meets his match in the girl with the 70 feet of magical golden hair. We're having a lot of fun pairing Flynn, who's seen it all, with Rapunzel, who's been locked away in a tower for 18 years.
